A fire ripped through a strip mall on Nassau Road in Roosevelt at 8: 25 a.m. Sunday, police said.

To battle the blaze, 200 firemen and 75 fire engines responded to the scene, Nassau police said. The fire took nearly 90 minutes to extinguish.

The fire caused ‘substantial damage’ to one building and moderate damage to five other buildings, officials said.

Arson and bomb squad detectives are investigating the cause of the fire, which is still ‘undetermined,’ police said.

Three volunteer firefighters suffered heat exhaustion and one suffered minor burns, which were treated at Nassau University Medical Center, according to officials.

Police ask anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
