Forecasters: 1 or 2 inches of snow expected Wednesday
An inch or two of snow is expected to settle on Long Island by noon on Wednesday, forecasters say.
The snow will begin overnight Tuesday and end Wednesday, forecasters said.
National Weather Service meteorologists issued a hazardous weather advisory, and said locations west of the New York-Connecticut border may rack up to 4 inches of snow.
Temperatures for the day will peak at about 36 degrees with calm, 4- to 7-mph northwest winds.
Wednesday night temperatures are likely to drop to a low of 22 degrees and winds may pick up slightly to between 6 and 8 mph.
And Thursday should bring sunny skies and 33-degree temperatures amid 13 to 15 mph gusts.
