The National Weather Service issued a coastal flood statement advising of "minor tidal flooding during Thursday morning's high tide cycle of historically vulnerable locations."

The weather service identified those locations as New York Harbor, the western Long Island Sound shoreline, and Atlantic Ocean-facing beaches and back bays along the South Shore.

Tidal departures of around half a foot are expected at times of high tide -- 8:30 a.m. on the South Shore and 11:30 a.m. on the North Shore.
