Garage worker crushed to death by dump truck in in Roslyn Heights
A man was crushed to death Thursday by the mechanism of a dump truck that was inside an auto repair business in Roslyn Heights, police said.
The victim was pronounced dead at the Roslyn Auto Express, 71 Mineola Ave., shortly after 3 p.m., when he was discovered, Nassau police said.
Homicide Det. Sgt. Richard Laursen said the victim was working there alone, and the exact time of the accident was not yet determined. "The dump truck body came down and he was pinned," Laursen said. "He was last seen at 11:30 in the morning."
The victim's name was not immediately released, pending notification of next of kin, police said. Homicide detectives said they were continuing their investigation.
