Several injured, 2 seriously, in multivehicle crash on Veterans Memorial Highway in Hauppauge

Several people were injured, including two seriously, in a fiery multivehicle crash on Veterans Memorial Highway in Hauppauge on Tuesday, police said.
Detectives with the Suffolk County Police Department’s Fourth Squad based in Smithtown were investigating the crash, which occurred about 5:55 p.m. near Ledgewood Drive, a department spokesperson told Newsday via email.
Two vehicles involved in the crash caught fire, the spokesperson said.
