One person was injured after a fire tore through a Hicksville building on Monday night.
Around 9 p.m., the Hicksville Fire Department was called to a fire at a two-story Jerusalem Avenue house, Capt. Kevin Lang, of the Nassau County Fire Marshal’s Office, said in a statement.
Firefighters found the first-floor dentist's office and a second-floor apartment of the balloon-frame structure aflame.
About 80 firefighters, including from the Westbury, Carle Place, Bethpage, East Meadow, Jericho, Roslyn, Syosset, and Farmingdale departments, brought the fire under control within an hour.
One occupant was evaluated at scene for an injury. There were no other injuries, Lang said.
The one adult was displaced.
