A 12-year-old girl, who went missing Wednesday afternoon in Hicksville, has been found safe, Nassau County police said.

Samiah Baksh, 12, had last been seen at a 7-Eleven on West John Street at about 3:30 p.m., according to detectives from the Missing Persons Squad. Authorities had gone door-to-door in the surrounding neighborhoods searching for her, with a staging area at West John Street and Kuhl Avenue.

Her destination at the time of her disappearance was unknown.

Late Wednesday, Nassau police announced the girl had been found safe. They did not say where she had been located.
