Firefighter burned in Bay Shore house fire that displaced 3 adults, officials say

One Bay Shore firefighter was injured and three people were forced out of a home that was badly damaged in a fire in Bay Shore early Wednesday.
Firefighters rescued three cats from the burning home.
Firefighters were called just before 6 a.m. to a house engulfed in flames on Lockwood Road. Firefighters saw flames coming from the first and second floor of the rental home, Bay Shore Fire Chief John Ippolito Jr. said.
Three people living in the home got out before firefighters arrived. The three cats in the house were taken by neighbors, Ippolito said.
One firefighter suffered minor burns and was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was treated and released, Ippolito said.
The American Red Cross was called to help home's the three displaced adults.
