6 people suffer smoke inhalation in Huntington house fire, police said

Arson detectives are investigating the cause of an early-morning house fire in Huntington that sent six people, including four residents and two police officers, to hospitals Wednesday, Suffolk police said.
The 911 call reporting the fire on Westvale Lane was received at 5:10 a.m., police said.
Firefighters from Huntington Manor, Huntington, Melville, Greenlawn, Dix Hills and Syosset responded to the scene, as did the Huntington Community First Aid Squad and ambulance crews from Cold Spring Harbor, Centerport and Halesite, police said.
Two Second Precinct patrol officers, as well as four residents of the home, were taken to hospitals for treatment of smoke inhalation. Police said all were treated and released.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
