A rally scheduled for Wednesday in support of Donald Trump's stalled catering hall on the Jones Beach boardwalk is attracting a host of elected officials in addition to the developer.
The newly formed Alliance to Revitalize Jones Beach is planning the rally at 11 a.m. at the Central Mall site of the proposed facility.
The project has been tied up in litigation for several years.
According to Rafe Lieber of Plainview, founder of the alliance, the confirmed elected officials planning to attend are State Senator Jack Martins (R-Mineola), state Assembly members David McDonough (R-Merrick), Joseph Saladino (R-Massapequa), Brian Curran (R-Lynbrook), Alfred Graf (R-Holbrook), Jose Rivera (D-Bronx), Phil Ramos (D-Brentwood) and Dean Murray (R-East Patchogue); Nassau County Legis. Wayne H. Wink Jr. (D-Roslyn) and Francis X. Becker Jr. (R-Lynbrook); and Republican Town of Hempstead Councilman Ed Ambrosino.
Confirmed community group representatives are Chris Brown, president of the Wantagh Chamber of Commerce, Patrick Nicolosi, president of the Elmont East End Civic Association and Joe Baker, president of the South Merrick Civic Association.
Trump previously agreed to speak and meet supporters of the project.
