A Levittown man was killed Sunday afternoon on Sunrise Highway after he pulled his motorcycle over on the median in Yaphank and was struck by a passing vehicle, Suffolk police said.

Jason Delauro, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant with the Suffolk County medical examiner's office, police said.

Police said the crash occurred about 1:05 p.m. after Delauro pulled his 2005 Honda into the median of Sunrise, just west of Horseblock Road.

A westbound 2012 BMW 535 driven by Gregory Dean, 32, of Seaford, then drifted out of the left lane into the median, fatally hitting Delauro, police said.

Dean declined medical attention at the scene.

There was no apparent criminality involved, police said.
