JERICHO / Man charged in break-ins at apartment, five cars
Nassau police arrested a Brooklyn man after, officials say, he broke into a Jericho apartment and five nearby cars Sunday morning.
Jesus Segura-Constantino, 29, has been charged with second degree burglary and five counts of criminal possession of stolen property.
About 1:20 a.m., Segura-Constantino went into the Jericho apartment on 21st Street through an unlocked front door, police said. A barking dog alerted residents inside, two men, 22 and 20, who then went to investigate, police said.
When the two men spotted Segura-Constantino, police say he ran out of the house without taking anything.
About an hour later, police arrested him after an officer saw Segura-Constantino coming out of a house on 22nd Street, police said. Segura-Constantino also broke into five cars Sunday and was carrying several items when he was arrested, police said.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in First District Court in Hempstead.

AMITYVILLE / Girl, 15, shot while walking with friends
A 15-year-old girl was shot as she walked down an Amityville street, Suffolk police said.
The girl, who lives in Amityville, was walking on Bayview Avenue with friends at about 6:55 p.m. Saturday when she heard a noise and realized she had been shot, police said.
A friend took the girl, whom police did not identify, to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where she was treated for the injury, which was not life-threatening.

ROOSEVELT / Freeport man arrested in shooting outside party
A Freeport man was arrested early Sunday on charges of shooting a gun at a party in Roosevelt, Nassau police said.
Police, responding to a ShotSpotter alert, went to the party on Williams Street about 1:45 a.m. and found 9-mm shells on the ground in the backyard.
After an investigation, police said they determined that Kenton Sherwood, 32, had fired the gun. Police also found a black and silver 9-mm handgun at the scene. There were no reported injuries.
Sherwood was charged with two counts of criminal use of a firearm, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of a weapon. He was scheduled to be arraigned Sunday in First District Court in Hempstead.

WYANDANCH / Shooting victim charged with illegal gun posession
A 19-year-old Wyandanch man who was treated last week for a gunshot to the leg was arrested on charges of illegally possessing a handgun, Suffolk police said.
Chris Berry of North 22nd Street had been walking on South 27th Street on Wednesday evening when he suffered a bullet wound to his right leg.
He was taken by a friend to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, but police said he gave few details about the circumstances surrounding his injury or who was responsible for the shooting.
On Saturday, authorities executed a search warrant on Berry's home and found an unlicensed loaded .25-caliber handgun with its serial number defaced.
Berry was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was scheduled to be arraigned Sunday in First District Court in Central Islip.
