The houseplant that brings you out of your winter doldrums can sicken or kill your pet. If you suspect your pet has nibbled any plant, regardless of whether symptoms are present, phone or visit your veterinarian immediately, or call the ASPCA's Animal Poison Control Center at 888-426-4435. (There is a $65 fee for the call, charged to your credit card.)
