Morgan Salmon, of West Hempstead, has been named Woman of the Year and Defensive Soccer Player of the Year by the Northeast-10 Conference as well as a United Soccer Coaches All-American. Salmon, who completed her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Adelphi University this past May, was a center back and captain for the university’s Panthers women’s soccer team, which reached the Northeast-10 championship finals in 2023 and captured the school’s first NCAA Division 2 National East Region Championship in 20 years. Her final start as a Panther came at the NCAA Division 2 National Championship, where she played all 90 minutes of the team’s semifinal game against Washburn University.
