Babylon
A lockbox containing money and legal papers was discovered stolen Jan. 5 from a residence on Siegel Boulevard.
Bayport
The rear window of vehicle parked on Terrace Road was smashed Jan. 3.
Bay Shore
There was an incident of criminal mischief to a vehicle in the Dynasty Café parking lot on Union Boulevard on Jan. 3.
A West Babylon man, 50, was arrested at The Home Depot on Sunrise Highway and charged with petty larceny. He is charged with defrauding the store of $40 by replacing price tags on paint items with tags from merchandise of lesser value.
A Brentwood woman, 28, was arrested Jan. 5 at the JC Penney store on Route 27 and charged with petty larceny for stealing merchandise.
Blue Point
A Blue Point man, 19, and a Patchogue man, 20, were arrested on Atlantic Avenue Jan. 8 and charged with criminal mischief with intent to damage property after driving an SUV through a fence.
Brentwood
A 2003 GMC Envoy was stolen from in front of a house on Merrill Street Jan. 6. The unattended vehicle had been left running.
The side mirror and passenger door of a 2008 Nissan Altima, parked in the lot at Heartland Golf Park on Long Island Avenue, were damaged Jan. 3.
License plates were discovered stolen Jan. 5 from a location on Front Avenue.
A 1996 Honda Civic on Candlewood Road was stolen Jan. 5.
Copiague
The side window of a Ford Explorer parked in The Home Depot lot on Route 27 was smashed Jan. 4. Electronics items, including a GPS unit, were stolen.
A 1995 Honda Civic was stolen on 25th Street on Jan. 4.
Deer Park
An unknown person kicked the front door of a house on Washington Avenue Jan. 5, damaging the molding on the door.
East Islip
The front door lock of the Field 5 Collectibles store on West Main Street was discovered broken Jan. 6. A cash register containing money was removed.
Islandia
A Middle Island man, 35, was arrested Jan. 4 for petty larceny for shoplifting a television from the Walmart on Veterans Highway.
Islip
A car on Buffalo Avenue was discovered broken into Jan. 4.
A GPS unit was stolen from a vehicle in the Shop Rite parking lot on Route 27 on Jan. 3.
Lake Grove
All four tires on a 1993 Geo parked
at Smith Haven Mall were discovered punctured Jan. 6.
North Bay Shore
A gang tag was discovered Jan. 3 spray-painted on an East Third Avenue property.
North Lindenhurst
Vandals damaged a fence at a house on Wood Place on Jan. 3.
Oakdale
A mailbox located at a house on Middlesex Avenue was broken off its post Jan. 4. The mailbox was recovered on a neighbor's doorstep.
Sayville
A PVC vinyl fence was damaged
at a house on Foster Avenue on
Jan. 9.
The passenger-side window of a car parked on Main Street was smashed Jan. 8. A Toshiba laptop and a digital camera were stolen.
West Babylon
The basement door to an apartment at a house on Peary Street was forced open Jan. 5. A computer, money and jewelry were reported stolen.
West Islip
Items were discovered stolen Jan. 4 from a vehicle on Lawn Avenue.
ELSEWHERE
Commack
A customer, returning to The Home Depot on Jericho Turnpike on Jan. 4 to retrieve his keys and BlackBerry left behind at a self-serve terminal, was unable to locate either item.
Dix Hills
An unknown person dispensed gas into a four-door Honda at the Sunoco gas station on Deer Park Avenue on Jan. 4, and drove away without paying.
Greenlawn
A burglar entered a Croley Street residence Jan. 5 by kicking in a rear door. Jewelry was reported stolen.
Huntington
A woman entered an office area at Quetzalcoatl restaurant on Main Street Jan. 4 inquiring about a job, and stole cash from the owner's bag.
Kings Park
A burglary was discovered Jan. 4 at the Town of Smithtown municipal services complex on Old Northport Road. An individual broke into a weigh station trailer and made an unsuccessful attempt at prying open a bolted-down safe. The safe was slightly damaged. Additionally, a Honda Polaris all-terrain vehicle, a gas meter and a Honda generator were discovered stolen from a storage container on the property.
Patchogue
A 2003 Dodge van was discovered stolen Jan. 6 from the parking lot of Haverty Auto and Plate Glass on Route 112.
