Anna Petralia was born June 21, 1908, in the Ridgewood section of Brooklyn. She had three brothers (now deceased), and two sisters (one deceased). Anna was a seamstress in the International Ladies Garment Workers Union for more than 50 years. She volunteered at St. Jude's Church in Mastic Beach, where she was a member of The Legion of Mary. A longtime resident of Shirley, she moved to Brookhaven Health Care Facility in Patchogue in 2002, where she enjoys bingo, arts and crafts, and visits from friends. She celebrated her 102nd birthday there with her sister, Rosalie Signorelli, niece Jeanine Signorelli, staff, residents and members of St. Jude's Church. Compiled by Darlene Gein
