Centenarian: Carmela (Millie) Misiti Terranova
Carmela (Millie) Misiti Terranova was born July 16, 1913, in Manhattan. She married Michael Terranova on Aug. 11, 1935, at Our Lady of Carmel Church in Astoria, Queens. They had four daughters, RoseMarie, MaryAnn, Janice and Michele. They lived in Astoria until 1956 when they moved to Hicksville. According to her family, Millie is devoted to her family and her Catholic faith. In 1981 Carmela and Michael moved to Nesconset to be near their daughters, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Carmela was widowed after 66 years of marriage. She celebrated her birthday at the Ronkonkoma Knights of Columbus hall with her family and friends.
