Centenarian: Ellen Sholl
Ellen Sholl was born Jan. 11, 1913, in Manhattan and grew up in Astoria, Queens. She married her childhood sweetheart, Bert, in 1936. They moved to Hicksville after World War II and raised four sons and a daughter. She was active in St. Ignatius Parish for many years. Ellen was widowed in 1986. She later lived for several years with her daughter, Patricia, and now lives with her 90-year-old sister, Margaret, in Islip Terrace.
