Freda Steuer, born Nov. 12, 1913, in Mössingen, Germany, is one of 13 children, four of whom survive. Freda came to the United States at age 24. She met Charles Steuer at a church function and they were eventually married, settling in Farmingdale. Freda has five children, 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking for family, sewing, watching soap operas and crocheting scarves. Freda was widowed in 1985. She continues to live in the same home in Farmingdale. She celebrated her birthday at a party given by her children with family and friends who traveled from around the county as well as from Spain.
