Helen Lieberman was born May 1, 1906, in Manhattan. At age 2, she moved to Brooklyn with her family. She attended public school in Bensonhurst, where she was classmates with Jerome Horwitz (Curly Howard from "The Three Stooges"). She worked at American Lead Pencil Factory as an executive secretary. She wed childhood sweetheart, Murray Lieberman, on March 20, 1932, and had two sons (both now deceased). Helen was widowed in 1965. She lives at Komanoff Center for Geriatric and Rehabilitative Medicine in Long Beach, where she enjoys knitting, trips, crafts, playing cards, music and parties. She celebrated her birthday there with friends. She enjoys visits from her grandchildren and niece and nephew. She attributes her longevity to keeping physically active by swimming and taking vitamins.
