Centenarian: Helen Trachtenberg

Helen Trachtenberg was born June 15, 1912, in Brooklyn and lived in various sections of the borough before moving to the Brighton Beach/Coney Island area in 1964. She married Nathan Trachtenberg in 1936 and was widowed in 1995. Helen lived on her own until the age of 95. In 2007 she moved to The Arbors Assisted Living in Bohemia to live near her family. Helen has two children, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In 2010 Helen moved to East Neck Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in West Babylon. She celebrated her birthday at a party, along with her sister Micky, who celebrated her 90th birthday, attended by their extended family.
