Irma Rogers, née Edvy, was born Aug. 19, 1910, in New Brunswick, N.J. When she was 8 months old her family moved to Hungary, where she was raised. She married Joe Rogers, now deceased, and returned to live in New Jersey. They had a daughter, Joan. They moved to Manhattan where Irma worked at a government defense plant, a jewelry firm and, at 72, retired from a stamp-collection firm. Her hobbies included sewing, reading newspapers and watching TV game shows. She lived in Astoria, Queens, before moving to Brookhaven Health Care Facility in 2001. Irma celebrated her birthday with Joan, son-in-law Frank, granddaughters Pamela and Valerie, six great-grandchildren and goddaughter Grace, along with friends and staff at the facility.
