Centenarian: Lillian Glodowski
Lillian Glodowski, née Jadaszewski, was born March 2, 1913, in Long Island City. She is one of five children. Her youngest sibling, Helen, survives. Lillian was raised in Plock, Poland, and Greenpoint, Brooklyn. She married Edward in 1936 in Greenpoint, and they later moved to Melville, where they lived with their only child, Helen Linnick, and her husband, Gene. Edward died in 1990. Lillian has two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She loved going to Saint Stanislaus Kostka Church in Greenpoint and St. Elizabeth Church in Melville. She enjoyed Polish dancing, playing bingo, and "The Price is Right" and "Jeopardy" on TV. In 2002 she moved to Cold Spring Hills in Woodbury, where she celebrated her birthday with family and friends.
