MAE LEWIS was born Nov. 5, 1912, in Brooklyn to Julia and Michael Edelman. Mae worked as a bookkeeper in Manhattan for many years. She married Henry Lewis and had two sons and a daughter. In 1953 they moved to Manhasset, where Mae and Henry were founders of Temple Judea. Mae was an active member of Sisterhood and Hadassah. She was widowed after 59 years of marriage. She has six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She lives at Atria Cutter Mill Senior Living in Great Neck. She celebrated her birthday with family at the Inn of Great Neck.
