Marietta Capizzi was born Jan. 29, 1901, in Sicily. In 1919 she immigrated to America where she met her husband Frank Capizzi. They wed in 1922 and were married for 73 years before Frank died at the age of 99. Marietta and Frank owned a candy store in Canarsie, Brooklyn. They had two sons, Anthony, now deceased, and Peter. Marietta lived in Valley Stream and enjoyed cooking for her family and the company of her sisters. Marietta has five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She lives at Sunrise Senior Living of Glen Cove since she was 105. She celebrated her birthday there at a party with family, friends and Glen Cove Mayor Ralph Suozzi.
