Centenarian: Meta Bottjer
Meta Bottjer was born Jan. 29, 1912, in Lintig, Germany. She came to America in 1929, married Arnold Bottjer on Dec. 1, 1934, and had two daughters, Ann O'Donnell (now deceased) and Jane Dreher. Meta and Arnold owned and operated delicatessens in Brooklyn, Great Neck and Levittown. She was widowed in 1982. In 2011 Meta moved into Huntington Hills Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Melville. Meta has seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Meta celebrated her birthday at the Bonwit Inn in Commack with 25 family members.
