Philip Joseph was born July 29, 1907, on Lorimer Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. He married Beatrice Berkowitz in 1930. In 1939 they moved to Lawrence and then to Woodmere. He has two children, Patricia Gilmore and Stuart Joseph, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Joseph worked in the women's dress-line business. After retiring in 1955, he and his wife moved to Florida but returned to Roslyn Heights in 2002 to live with Patricia. Joseph was widowed after 77 years of marriage. He reads newspapers and doesn't need glasses. He celebrated his birthday at Jolly Fisherman and at home with family and friends. Joseph attributes his longevity "in part to always giving the biggest respect to others."
