Centenarian: Rose Darienzo

ROSE DARIENZO was born Feb. 5, 1911, in southern Italy. She was married to Sebastian Darienzo in 1945 and lived in Bethpage. After 14 years of marriage she was widowed and moved to to an apartment in Westbury. She was a dressmaker and worked in Manhattan's Garment District and in a clothing shop in Hicksville. She retired at the age of 80. She enjoyed ballroom dancing until she was 86 and has won many competitions. She lives at Hadley House in Port Washington, where she enjoys visits from her nieces.
