Centenarian: Sara Ameri
Sara Ameri was born Oct. 1, 1912, in Manhattan and grew up in Brooklyn. She married Augie Ameri (now deceased), and they had four children. Sara enjoyed sewing baby clothes, which she donated to the RSVP Program at the Spangle Drive Senior Center in North Babylon. She has 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She enjoys cooking and gambling in Atlantic City. She attributes her longevity to: "Walking, there is no such thing as too far, eating macaroni and vegetables and drinking plenty of water." She received a lifetime award from Babylon Lanes, where she bowled until 2011. She lives in Babylon Village. She enjoyed a birthday party at Spangle Drive with family and friends.
