Simon Hirsch was born May 9, 1911, in Memphis, Tenn. He was married to Frieda for 74 years before being widowed last year. They lived in Brooklyn and Queens over the years. They had two children, Norman Hirsch of Dix Hills, and Marilyn Lubelle of Oneonta. Simon was a carpet supplier and installer for 70 years before retiring. He enjoys reading. He celebrated his birthday with family and friends at Brandywine Senior Living at Huntington Terrace, in Melville, where he has lived for the past eight years. He has five grandchildren (the sixth is deceased).
