Centenarian: Yolanda McLaughlin
YOLANDA MCLAUGHLIN was born June 20, 1910, to Louis and Louisa Garbarini. She had five siblings, all of whom are deceased. Yolanda worked for New York Telephone Co. In 1934, she wed John McLaughlin. They had two sons and moved to Farmingdale in 1952. Widowed in 1961, she worked at Northside Elementary School in the Farmingdale School District. Upon retiring, she moved to Florida, where she met and wed Earl Bayard (now deceased), and later married Edward Demerley (now deceased). She returned to Long Island, living at Leisure Village in Ridge and The Arbors at Bohemia before moving to Petite Fleur Nursing Home in Sayville, where she enjoys playing bingo. She has two daughters-in-law, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
