Daniel M. Devine of Central Islip recently received the Outstanding School Board Services Award from the Nassau-Suffolk School Boards Association in recognition of his commitment to the children and community. Devine is vice president of the Central Islip Union Free School District's Board of Education and is retired from his position of lead custodian at Central Islip High School. He is credited with implementing a number of the district's "cutting edge" technology and academic initiatives, district officials said.
