Paper was ignited in a mailbox on Colonial Drive Jan. 17.

Calverton

A CamelBak hydration pack, containing items that included a wallet, was stolen from Southbay Sportsplex on Grumman Boulevard Jan. 19.

A lacrosse stick was stolen at Southbay Sportsplex on Grumman Boulevard Jan. 21.

A wallet was lost or stolen Jan. 21 at Calverton National Cemetery on Princeton Boulevard.

East Hampton

An East Hampton man, 21, was arrested Jan. 12 at the intersection of Montauk Highway and Stephen Hands Path and charged with nine offenses that include operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and speeding.

On Jan. 19, a Montauk man, 53, lost control of his vehicle on a patch of ice on Flanders Road and struck and damaged a resident's driveway lights and a stone wall. He was issued a summons for leaving the scene of an accident.

A Montauk woman, 44, pressed the accelerator instead of the brake while attempting to park on South Euclid Avenue Jan. 21, causing her vehicle to drive over the curb and hit a hedge and a handicap parking sign. No injuries were reported.

Jamesport

Hunters were reported on Timothy Lane Jan. 22.

Medford

A woman's pocketbook was stolen while she was loading groceries into her vehicle in a lot on Route 112 Jan. 18.

Riverhead

A Quogue man, 35, was arrested Jan. 23 and charged with patronizing a prostitute during an undercover sting operation on Railroad Avenue.

Graffiti was discovered Jan. 23 at three businesses: Lewin Medical Supply on Oliver Street, Michael Angelo Auto Sales on Old Country Road, and Long Island Ice & Fuel on West Main Street.

The theft of 27 air guns from Sports Authority on Old Country Road was reported Jan. 21.

An unknown man issued four false cash refunds at Polo Ralph Lauren on West Main Street Jan. 19. The store's loss was estimated at about $1,800.

An unknown woman stole four suits, valued at about $10,000, from Giorgio Armani on West Main Street Jan. 18.

Sag Harbor

A Sag Harbor man, 18, was arrested Jan. 21 and charged with third-degree assault for a Jan. 19 incident in which he is accused of throwing a soda can at a moving school bus and causing a female passenger to suffer a concussion.

Wading River

A Hulse Landing Road residence was burglarized Jan. 21. Entry to the home was gained through an unlocked rear basement door. A PlayStation 3, a video-game controller and three games, valued at $580, were stolen.

Bay Shore

Cigarettes and juices were stolen from the Empire Gas Station on Fifth Avenue Jan. 19.

East Islip

Scrap metal was stolen from containers at Ray the Plumber on Sunrise Highway Jan. 17.

East Northport

A briefcase was stolen from a residence on Deland Street Jan. 19. Entry was gained through a basement window. A Smithtown man, 48, was later arrested at another location and charged with second-degree burglary.

East Patchogue

The front-glass window of a business on Montauk Highway was damaged Jan. 17.

Hauppauge

Twenty gallons of diesel fuel were stolen from a Caterpillar construction vehicle on Plant Avenue Jan. 19.

Holbrook

A pocketbook containing cash and credit cards was stolen at the Pathmark supermarket on Sunrise Highway Jan. 19.

Islandia

A purse containing credit cards was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the parking lot of Dave & Buster's on Veterans Memorial Highway Jan. 23.

A Central Islip man, 31, was arrested for allegedly stealing grocery items at Stop and Shop on Route 454

Jan. 20.

Lake Grove

A 17-year-old male was arrested at Sears in Smith Haven Mall Jan. 18. He is accused of stealing a wallet from the store.

Nesconset

Four tires and rims were removed from a 2009 Nissan Maxima on Smithtown Boulevard Jan. 17.
