Reports from county or village police, March 21-27
A mailbox on Baywood Drive was damaged March 25.
A town sign on Edwards Avenue was marked with graffiti March 24.
On March 26, a female resident on Sound Avenue reported that someone has been placing dog waste on the front steps of her trailer on several occassions.
Copper gutters and 11 copper downspouts were stolen from a residence on Georgica Road on March 24.
A cottage on Montauk Highway was broken into March 24. No damage to the cottage was reported, however, empty beer bottles were found and the heating system was left on.
A Flanders man, 29, was arrested March 26 after police responded to a report of a burglary in progress at Alyssa's Back Alley Creations on Montauk Highway. The defendant was allegedly in the building with proceeds in his possession. He was charged with third-degree burglary.
A Massapequa man, 20, was arrested March 25 for stealing a 1991 Volvo left idling in front of a 7-Eleven in Hampton Bays while the owner was inside shopping. The automobile was later recovered, unoccupied, in the Macy's parking lot. The defendant was identified as the perpetrator, and police located him near the Hampton Bays train station, where he was arrested.
Two flat-screen TVs, valued at $700, were stolen from a Point Street location March 27.
A suspicious vehicle was reported on Doug Lane on March 27.
On March 21, an unidentified man driving a blue Yamaha dirt bike was observed driving across the property of a Fox Lane residence and causing damage to the lawn.

Landscaping debris was dumped on a Bay Run residential property March 26.
A loose horse was reported on Herricks Lane on March 24.
One hundred and five dollars was stolen March 27 from a woman's handbag at Laundry Palace on Harrison Avenue.
Four unknown females were observed stealing towels from Pottery Barn on West Main Street on March 25.
A town sign on Roanoke Avenue was marked with graffiti March 24.
Two unidentified males stole 61 shirts, valued at $3,940, from Lacoste Outlet on West Main Street on March 21.
Police arrested a 74-year-old Southampton man on County Road 105 on March 25 after responding to numerous 911 calls regarding a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction. The defendant was charged with driving while intoxicated, and also received a town code violation after allegedly urinating on the roadside in the presence of a police officer.
A Riverside man, 24, was arrested March 26 after police responded to a dispute at an Old Quogue Road residence and he was found to have an active Southampton arrest warrant for an assault that occurred in January.
An East Hampton man, 46, was arrested March 27 at police headquarters for a burglary that occurred at a Cross Street residence on Feb. 25. The defendant and an unknown accomplice are charged with stealing a metal lock box containing about $45,000. He was charged with second-degree burglary, criminal possession of stolen property, third-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree conspiracy; bail was set at $40,000.
An East Hampton woman, 25, was arrested March 26 on Bay Street on driving while intoxicated charges.
On March 22, a Hampton Bays woman, 60, and a Wading River man, 58, were involved in a motor vehicle accident in the vicinity of Dogwood Drive. Both sustained injuries and were transported to Stony Brook University Medical Center.
The fire department extinguished flames ignited by a dryer at a Kay Road residence March 26.
Jewelry was stolen from a Lewin Drive residence March 26.
Two laptop computers, valued at $2,400, were stolen March 22 from a Wading River Manor Road residence.
A portable 10-kilowatt generator, valued at $1,000, was stolen March 21 from a yard on Meroke Trail.
