Centenarian: Elaine Hacker

ELAINE HACKER was born on June 2, 1926, in Manhattan. She married Melvin in 1947, and they raised their four children in Astoria. A successful businesswoman, Elaine, along with Mel, owned and operated Treasure Cove, a Hallmark store, and later a second location, before retiring at 72. Known for her sharp mind, independent spirit, and lifelong love of mahjong, she also enjoys bingo and spending time with her best friend, Nancy. Elaine celebrated with a family party, then with friends at Gurwin Assisted Living in Commack, where she lives.
