Centenarian: Gloria Bence

GLORIA BENCE was born March 15, 1924, in Manhattan to Ella and Harold Swezey. She was the oldest of three children. She married William Bence in 1943. They had five children and settled in East Meadow. Gloria was a homemaker, on the PTA board, and was active at Calvary Lutheran Church in East Meadow where she taught Sunday school. She has four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She still resides in her East Meadow home with her eldest son. She celebrated her birthday with her family at home.
