A man attempted to steal sneakers from Kohl's on Crooked Hill Road on June 7 by concealing them in his pants. He was confronted in the parking lot, returned the goods and fled.
Police were informed of an unsuccessful attempt to remove a safe through a garage wall June 6 at a house on Gull Drive.
Huntington
An unknown person stole a satellite radio, a black bag and paperwork June 8 from an unlocked vehicle on Carley Avenue.
The theft of items from an unlocked vehicle parked on Newbury Place was discovered June 8. The stolen items included coins and a driver's license.
A taxicab driver was punched by a passenger in his vehicle June 9 on Varney Avenue. When the driver exited the cab he was pursued by the passenger, who caught up with him and stole his cash and a flashlight before fleeing the scene.
An unknown person stole assorted makeup items June 9 from the Sephora store in the Walt Whitman Mall.
A burglar entered a house on Crooked Hill Road June 8 through an unlocked front window and stole jewelry.
Damage to the steering column of a 1999 Acura parked in a driveway on Wyoming Drive was discovered June 8.
A 16-year-old Wyandanch youth was arrested June 8. He was charged with petty larceny for entering a charity clothing bin in the Key Food shopping center parking lot on Indian Head Road and stealing clothes.
A 2004 Dodge Intrepid was stolen June 8 from the LIRR parking lot on Indian Head Road.
A pocketbook containing assorted items was stolen June 8 from a 2005 Honda Pilot on Sunken Meadow Road. A window on the vehicle was broken to gain access.
Jeans and a shirt were discovered stolen June 6 from a vehicle parked in a Mills Path driveway.
An individual was closing Parsnip Pub on Smithtown Boulevard on June 9 when he was confronted by a man with a hammer. The intruder, who had entered the business through a back door, fled.
A catalytic converter was discovered missing June 8 from a 2005 Ford Escape in the Estee Lauder parking lot on the Long Island Expressway South Service Road.
A pool pump was reported stolen June 8 from a house on Lawrence Drive.

A 2006 Porsche was discovered stolen June 9 from a driveway on Golf Club Road.
South Huntington
Three Deer Park women, ages 21, 48 and 62, were arrested June 6 at Macy's in the Walt Whitman Mall and charged with grand larceny, fourth degree for stealing clothing.
A GPS unit, an E-ZPass tag and audio CDs were discovered stolen June 7 from a vehicle on Seventh Street.
