A customer returned to The Home Depot on Jericho Turnpike Jan. 4 to retrieve keys and a Blackberry at a self-serve terminal and couldn't find them.

An armful of women's pants and T-shirts were stolen at The Gap on East Jericho Turnpike Jan. 3.

Dix Hills

A person dispensed gas into a 4-door Honda at the Sunoco on Deer Park Avenue Jan. 4 and left without paying.

East Northport

A break-in was attempted at a Burr Road house Jan. 4. A rear door window was broken, but no entry was made.

Greenlawn

A burglar entered a Croley Street residence Jan. 5 by kicking in a rear door. Jewelry was stolen.

Huntington

A woman entered an office area at Quetzalcoatl restaurant on Main Street Jan. 4 inquiring about a job and stole cash from the owner's bag.

Huntington Station

A metal object was thrown through a window at a BP gas station on Route 25 Jan. 3.

Kings Park

At the Town of Smithtown Municipal Services complex on Old Northport Road Jan. 4, a weigh station trailer was broken into, and a bolted-down safe was damaged but not opened. A Honda Polaris all-terrain vehicle, a gas meter and a Honda generator were stolen from a storage container on the property.

St. James

A home on North Country Road was robbed Jan. 3 of a Rolex watch, jewelry including two diamond rings, an unopened 32-inch flat-screen television and an unopened Xbox video game system.

ELSEWHERE

Brentwood

A 2003 GMC Envoy was stolen from in front of a house on Merrill Street Jan. 6. The vehicle had been left running.

A 1996 Honda Civic on Candlewood Road was stolen Jan. 5.

Islandia

A Middle Island man, 35, was arrested Jan. 4 on a charge of petit larceny, shoplifting a television from the Walmart on Veterans Highway.

Lake Grove

All four tires on a 1993 Geo at Smithaven Mall parking lot were discovered punctured Jan. 6.

North Bay Shore

A gang tag was discovered Jan. 3 spray-painted on an East Third Avenue property.

West Babylon

The basement door to an apartment at a house on Peary Street was forced open Jan. 5. A computer, money and jewelry were reported stolen.
