Reports from county or village police, June 13-19
A dirt bike was stolen June 13 from the bed of a truck parked in a residential driveway on Westminster Drive.
The driver-side window of a 2008 Chevy Trailblazer on Westminster Drive was broken June 13. A wallet containing credit cards and a laptop computer case were reported stolen.
An ornamental statue of a lion was stolen from a residential property on Smithtown Avenue June 14. The statue was later recovered undamaged.
The window of a car parked at a Third Street location was broken June 13.
Cash was stolen from the register of a Suffolk Avenue laundry store June 13. Entry was gained through a rear door.
The driver-side window of a car parked at a Claywood Drive house was broken June 13.
A Central Islip man, 46, was arrested June 14 and charged with petty larceny. He is accused of stealing a large amount of Colgate toothpaste from the Dollar Tree store on Research Drive.
A Brentwood man, 35, was arrested June 14 and charged with second-degree burglary. He is accused of entering an unoccupied house on Joshua's Path and stealing assorted metal building materials.
Several feet of copper piping was stolen from a vacant house on Palm Street June 14.
The mailbox in front of a house on Laurel Road was stolen June 14.
Jewelry and cash were stolen from a Smith Avenue residence June 14. Entry was gained by cutting through a screen on a first floor window.
A laptop computer, jewelry and a safe were stolen from a Richard Court house June 14.
The lawn sprinkler system of an Idle Hour Boulevard residence was damaged June 14.
Three teenagers were seen breaking the wood post to a mailbox in front of a house on Pamlico Avenue June 13.
ELSEWHERE
A 2001 Jeep was stolen from a Timber Ridge Drive location June 14.
A woman, 21, was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary June 13. She is accused of entering a house on Moriches Drive through a living room window and stealing cash.
