JACK HAYNE was born Jan. 17, 1924, in New York. Jack joined the Army in 1943, entered West Point in 1945, and married Pearl Anderman Hayne on graduation day in June 1945. He served in Korea, then did missile and nuclear defense work before joining Grumman and settling in Old Bethpage in 1964. Jack also served as commander of a local Jewish War Veterans post. He has enjoyed skiing, hiking, fishing, ham radio and computers, and he is still an avid fencer, teaching fencing in Woodbury weekly. He was widowed in 2021 and has two children (one deceased), a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
