LEAH MAYER, née Ginsburg, was born on April 28, 1920, in England. In 1925 her family moved to Palestine. When she was 19 she traveled alone to Brooklyn, where she met her husband, Lawrence Mayer. They married in 1942, and in 1954 they moved to Oceanside where they raised their two daughters. She was widowed in 2007 after 65 years of marriage. Leah still resides in Oceanside and enjoys playing canasta, reading, watching TV, and is especially fond of foreign films. She celebrated at home with her daughters, grandchildren and friends.
