University digitizing LI history for future generations

An ambitious multiyear project at LIU Post is on a mission to digitize documents and photographs from the collections of historical socities across Long Island. With a $1.5 million grant from the Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation, "Digitizing Local History Sources" has already scanned more than 70,000 images from dozens of organizations and made them available for anyone to access online.
