65thJOSEPHINE AND EUGENE TRUE of North Bellmore were wed Oct. 27, 1946, at the Nativity Church in Ozone Park and honeymooned in Niagara Falls. On Oct. 30 they celebrated with a renewal of their vows at St. Rafael's Church in East Meadow followed by a reception. Eugene is a Navy veteran and retired as a machinist of the LIRR after 33 years of service. Josephine is a retired prototype wirer for Republic/Grumman and Sedco Systems and is also a homemaker. They have two children, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
50thPHYLLIS AND JAMES M. RUBIN of Great Neck were wed Oct. 28, 1961, at Temple Beth-el in Great Neck. They met on a blind date in 1960 arranged by a mutual friend. Phyllis was a physical education teacher with the Hicksville Public Schools for more than 31 years; the last 25 were spent at Dutch Lane School. She is now a self-employed medical exercise specialist/personal trainer. James is chief of allergy at Beth Israel Hospital. He served in the Army National Guard, and his unit was activated for the Berlin crisis in September 1961. They enjoy spending time at their vacation home in Cutchogue. They have two daughters and five grandchildren.
50thANGELA AND RUDY
PALUMBO of Plainview were wed Aug. 26, 1961, in St. Joseph's Church in Manhattan. They celebrated with family and friends at Carlyle on the Green in Farmingdale on Sept. 17. Rudy had his own landscaping business for 60 years. Angela is a retired school secretary. They have three children and two granddaughters.
40thLINDA AND AL PRIVITERA of Hicksville were wed Oct. 23, 1971. They celebrated in North Carolina at a hot-air balloon festival with their family and friends. Al is retired from the Nassau County Police Department after 30 years. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Linda retired in 2008 from a law firm after 22 years as a billing supervisor. They have no children but adore all their nieces and nephews and enjoy spending time with them at their second home in upstate Roscoe.
40thFRANCES AND STEPHEN KOBETITSCHof Valley Stream were wed Nov. 13, 1971. They celebrated with a cruise in June and a party with family earlier this month. Steve is a retired manager from Unisys. Fran is a retired nurse from Brooklyn Avenue School in Valley Stream. They have two children and one grandson.
