BARBARA AND JOHN LEE of Mount Sinai celebrated April 15 at a dinner with their children. John is an army veteran who served in World War II. He is retired from The New York Times. Barbara is a retired English teacher at William Floyd High School. The couple are active members of St. Gerard's Parish and deliver meals on wheels every week. They enjoy spending time with their two children and three grandchildren.

GRACE AND JOHN STARMACK of North Babylon celebrated April 22 at a family luncheon hosted by their four daughters. They have six grandchildren.

50th

HELEN AND VINCENT MELIA of Franklin Square were married April 24, 1960. They celebrated with family at the Babylon Carriage House. Both are retired and enjoy bowling with friends and spending time at their cabin upstate. They have three children and seven grandchildren.

CAROLE AND JERRY D'ORIO of East Northport were married Feb. 20, 1960. They celebrated with a party at the Terryville Fire Department with family and friends. A Mediterranean cruise is planned. Carole is a retired registered nurse. Jerry is a retired correction officer. They have three children and six grandchildren.

GAIL AND ANTHONY MERCURIO of Dix Hills celebrated April 30 at a surprise party at the Masury Estate in Center Moriches hosted by their five children and eight grandchildren. The couple are Freeport neighborhood sweethearts. Dr. Mercurio is a retired human anatomy professor from the NYU College of Dentistry and still teaches part-time for other local medical schools. Gail is a retired accounts payable assistant.

MARY AND TOM KAUFMAN of North Merrick were married Jan. 27, 1985. They celebrated with a trip to Key Largo, Fla. Tom is retired from KeySpan, now National Grid. Mary is a registered nurse employed by Winthrop-University Hospital. They have three children and three granddaughters.
