CARMELA AND COSIMO CAFFARELLA of Massapequa Park celebrated on Oct. 1. Cosimo served in the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II and the Korean War and is retired from his own cleaning business. Carmela is retired from Coristo Construction Co. They enjoy going to Atlantic City and visiting their son, Dean, in Texas. They have three children and two grandchildren.

 

60th

BEVERLY AND GENE TAUBEL of Port Washington were married Oct. 22, 1950. A celebration with their children is planned for the next month. Gene retired in 2008 as a technical sales representative from the vinyl plastic industry, and Beverly retired in 2009 as an office manager for a local ophthalmology practice. Gene served in the South Pacific during World War II. Both are active members of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America. They have two children and three grandchildren.

PHYLLIS AND LEON ALTMAN of Howard Beach were wed on Sept. 24, 1960. They celebrated at a party with family and friends at Vetro Restaurant in Howard Beach. Phyllis is a retired school secretary, and Leon still works as an accountant. They have three children and eight grandchildren.

DORIS AND ALEXANDER CRAGNOTTI of Montauk, formerly of Massapequa, celebrated Sept. 24with their two daughters and their spouses, and their five grandchildren at a party in Essex, Conn. Al is a retired auto mechanic supervisor of the Nassau County Police Department and a U.S. Navy veteran who served in World War II.

MAUREEN AND FRANK SHANK of Dix Hills were wed Sept. 11, 1960. They celebrated with a dinner party at Danfords Inn in Port Jefferson with their five children, their spouses and eight grandchildren. Frank retired as head instructor at Joseph Bulova School of Watchmaking in Woodside, Queens. Maureen and Frank are founders/owners of Cruise Specialist of Long Island.

STEPHANIE AND MITCHELL KUROPATKIN of Woodmere were wed Oct. 26, 1980. Mitchell is an accountant, and Stephanie is a nursery school teacher. They love the beach and going to concerts. They are avid Yankee and Giant fans. They have three children.
