69th

FLORENCE AND MARTIN UMANOFF, formerly of Great Neck and now residing in Audubon, Pa., were wed Jan. 11, 1942. They celebrated with family last month. Martin is a retired industrial designer, and Florence is a sculptor and occupational therapist. They have four children, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

CHARLOTTE AND LARRY AVIN, formerly of Rockaway Beach and now residing in Oceanside with their daughter and son-in-law, were wed Jan. 31, 1944, in Augusta, Ga., during World War II. Larry was a printing pressman, and Charlotte was a secretary, department store manager and buyer and a chiropractic assistant. Larry creates interesting shell novelties, and Charlotte knits for charity, reads, cooks and enjoys playing mah-jongg. They have two children, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

HELEN AND JOHN PSINAKIS of East Meadow were wed Aug. 19, 1950, in Astoria. They celebrated with a family weekend at Willow Valley, Pa., given to them by their children. John retired after 43 years as a buyer with Brooks Bros. Helen retired from Chemical Bank. They have six children and 12 grandchildren.

MARIA AND LOUIS BATAGELY of East Meadow were married in Trieste, Italy, on Jan. 6, 1951. They celebrated at a festive brunch with their family. Maria still bakes her delicious apple strudel, and Louis enjoys gardening when the weather permits. They have three daughters and four grandchildren.

DEE AND JOHN PALSER of Valley Stream celebrated on Valentine's Day. John is a retired federal police officer, and Dee is employed with the county attorney's office in Mineola. They have three children.

JANE AND PETER JORGENSEN of Huntington were wed Oct. 5, 1985. They celebrated with a trip to Tahiti and Bora Bora. Peter is a New York City construction professional. Jane is the owner of Tiki Tan salon in Greenlawn. They have two children.
