ACTIONS

At its March 2 meeting, the town board:

Authorized performance bond 29418 (Nova Casualty Co.) in the amount of $103,190 and cash deposit in the amount of $3,000 (Chrystal Builders LLC) for the subdivision known as Crystal Estates ပ to be declared in default; and further authorized the town attorney to commence litigation on the bond per recommendation of the Engineering Department.

Accepted cashier's check 147023 (State Bank of Long Island) in the amount of $500 (Town receipt # 47167, ID 10021800) posted in lieu of growth and life bond for the subdivision known as Burch Homes # 1077; the bond is to be held and bear the expiration date of Oct. 31, 2011; principal, Long Island Capital Management Corporation, P.O. Box 220, East Norwich, 11732.

Adopted a proposal from Freightliner Trucks to display a Town of Smithtown Cummins Westport CNG-powered Freightliner M2 truck at the National Natural Gas Vehicle Fleet Summit on March 24, in Louisville, Kent.; agreed to provide CNG vehicle maintenance training to town employees, and authorized the supervisor to sign an agreement on a form approved by the town attorney.

At its March 18 meeting, the town board:

Authorized the town clerk to advertise for bid 10-022: Six Wheel Trucks, to be returned to Town Hall, 99 W. Main St., P.O. Box 646, Smithtown, 11787, at 11 a.m. on April 8.

Authorized the town clerk to advertise for bid 10-016: Tri-Axle Truck, to be returned to Town Hall, 99 W. Main St., P.O. Box 646, Smithtown, 11787, at 11 a.m. on April 8.
