Stony Brook University's Yi-Xian Qin honored by Mechanical Engineers Society

Yi-Xian Qin, of East Setauket, has been elected a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Qin is a SUNY distinguished professor and chairman of the Biomedical Engineering Department at Stony Brook University, as well as director of the Orthopaedic Bioengineering Research Laboratory and co-director of the Institute for Engineering-Driven Medicine. He has also published more than 180 peer-reviewed articles and related books and chapters and is a fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research, the Biomedical Engineering Society, the International Academy of Medical and Biological Engineering and the International Academy of Astronautics.
