Suffolk County anniversaries

55thMARGARET (MARGIE) AND JOSEPH (CHICKIE) MARTIN of St. James were wed Sept. 1, 1956, at St. Joseph's Church in Astoria, Queens. The couple met when they were 16, were engaged at 18 and they married at 20. Joseph is a retired New York City firefighter. Margie is a homemaker. They had five children, four of whom survive, and four grandchildren.

50thMARYANN AND MARIO

ALLEVA of Huntington Station celebrated Sept. 9. A cruise to New England is planned. Mario retired as a heavy equipment operator. The couple enjoy spending time at their home in the Catskills. They have four children and four grandchildren.

45thKAREN AND FRANK PALAZZO of Coram were wed Sept. 24, 1966, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in West Hempstead. Karen retired from Longwood School District. Frank retired from Fairchild Camera in Syosset. The couple volunteer at St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson. They have four children and six grandchildren.

45thDANIELLE AND PAUL TESTA JR. of North Babylon celebrated Sept. 24 on a family cruise to Hawaii. Paul retired from the Long Island Rail Road and is a certified personal trainer. Danielle retired from Western Suffolk BOCES in Dix Hills. They have two sons and three grandchildren.

45thMARY AND WALTER TRACY of Ridge were wed Sept. 17, 1966. Walter retired from New York Telephone Co. in Brooklyn. Mary was a flight attendant for United Airlines. They have two daughters, a son-in-law and five grandchildren.

40thMARGARET AND DON MEHRER were wed Sept. 18 in Babylon Village, where they currently live. The couple met at a friend's house just after Don returned home from the Vietnam War.
