Nassau police and its Crime Stoppers department are looking for three men who assaulted another man at a Lawrence restaurant.

Police say that at about 11 p.m. on Sept. 24, the victim, who was a patron at the Popeyes at 679 Rockaway Tpke., was attacked and injured by the men. The suspects left in a red car.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at its toll-free and confidential hotline: 800-244-TIPS (8477). Crime Stoppers offers up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.

Suffolk police and its Crime Stoppers department are looking for a man they say stole two pocketbooks from customers at a Centereach store.

Police say that at about 4:15 p.m. on Sept. 27, a male suspect took two handbags from a shopping cart inside the Walmart in the Centerach Mall and left the store.

The handbags belonged to a woman and her 83-year-old mother who were shopping at the store, police said.

The suspect is described as about 30 years old, 6 feet tall and weighing 180 pounds.
